digital desk, Dhaka. Pakistan beat Bangladesh by five wickets to clean sweep the series 3-0 at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium here on Monday in the third match of the T20I series.
Mahmudullah took three wickets in the last over to bring Bangladesh back into the match, but Pakistan’s Mohammad Nawaz hit a four to complete the target of 125 runs.
Mohammad Rizwan (40 off 43 balls) and Haider Ali (45 off 38 balls) played brilliant innings for Pakistan.
Earlier, brilliant bowling from Usman Qadir and Mohammad Wasim Jr restricted the hosts to a total of 124/7 in 20 overs.
Chasing a small target, Pakistan’s openers captain Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan started well, but in the sixth over, captain Babar (19) was dismissed. In this way Pakistan scored 28 runs in the powerplay.
After this, Rizwan and Ali put on 51 runs for the second wicket, which took the team closer to victory, but Pakistan’s wickets kept falling in the middle overs. Nawaz, who came to bat at number seven, gave the team victory by hitting a four.
Earlier, Bangladesh captain Mahmudullah had won the toss and elected to bat. His decision could not take the team to a big score and could only score 124 runs in 20 overs for the loss of 7 wickets.
