Shahid Kapoor, who was unable to make his place in the national team as a cricketer and then played the role of a man forced to live in poverty, told during the trailer launch that in real life he loved playing cricket during school. Shahid said that it was not an easy task for him to pick up the bat and ball once again after nearly 25 years and play cricket for the film.

Shahid told that he had prepared for the film for four months before the shooting of the film started and he also got injured during the shooting. He told that the original season ball has been used in every shot of the film and the scenes in which fours and sixes are shown are actually hit fours and sixes. He told that the scenes of the film related to the cricket match have been shot at Mohali Cricket Stadium in Chandigarh, which is considered to be the largest cricket stadium in the country.

Shahid told that he was offered a remake of the Telugu film ‘Jersey’ two weeks before the release of his superhit film ‘Kabir Singh’ and during that time he was reading/listening to more scripts. He told that while listening to the script of the film, his wife Meera and his manager were also present there. He told that the script of the film ‘Jersey’ touched his heart so much that he became very emotional and started crying and both Meera and her manager were surprised to see their condition.

Shahid told that he was offered many films after ‘Kabir Singh’ became a superhit, but he chose ‘Jersey’ because he felt himself very connected with this film.

On the question related to working in another Telugu film remake ‘Jersey’ soon after ‘Kabir Singh’, a remake of Telugu film ‘Arjun Reddy’, Shahid said that he has realized after working in both the films. Making a remake is a very difficult task. He said that in some cases it is a more difficult task than the original character to play the same role in the remake because the character you played should look fresh and not an imitation of the original character.

Shahid told that during the release of ‘Suryavanshi’, the biggest film released after open theaters during the Corona period, he himself and his film ‘Jersey’ team ‘Suryavanshi’ were praying for the success. He told that everyone sincerely wanted the audience to return to the theaters once again after such a long gap. Shahid said that the feeling of the closure of the business for such a long period was quite scary. Shahid Kapoor worked with his actor Pankaj Kapur in the film ‘Mausam’. Talking about his experience of working with him again through ‘Jersey’, Shahid said that even today working with his father makes him very intimidating and nervous, but working with him has its own pleasure. is also.
